GAATN COVID-19 NOTICE:
Like everyone else, GAATN is affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, and is working to maintain and operate its fiber optic communications network so GAATN Participants – themselves all governmental entities – may rely on the GAATN Network for their communications needs.
Under the recent Travis County and City of Austin shelter-in-place orders that became effective at 11:59 p.m. on March 24, 2020, and the Governor’s March 31 Executive Order (GA-14), GAATN’s fiber-optic communications network is Critical Infrastructure; and in operating and maintaining the GAATN Network, GAATN is providing an Essential Government Function. GAATN will continue to operate the GAATN Network during the COVID-19 crisis, thus ensuring that the GAATN governmental entities may continue to rely on the GAATN Network.
GAATN’s field contractors, BryComm and JC Communications, provide Essential Business functions when they work on the GAATN Network, and so are exempt from the travel and other restrictions imposed by the Orders. If you see them in the field, be assured they are working to keep the GAATN Network, and other networks for other clients, working and reliable.
